February already! Hard to believe that January is over and Christmas is a distant memory.
It's also been some time since my last post... As a PR consultant, when advising clients about blogging, the golden rule, the first item in the 101 guide, is that once you start a blog you have to get into a routine and blog on a regular basis - some advice that I should take!
However, the last 6 weeks have been somewhat manic but at long last my corporate blogging / CIPR paper is finished and submitted. Some interesting results came out of my survey which (I hope) give something of an insight into where the PR industry is at the moment in regards to embracing new media (blogging in particular) as a tool for PR.
Full results and analysis to follow but firstly I would like to say a big thank-you to everybody who contributed to my survey. Colleagues, former colleagues, clients, CIPR course mates, a host of PR professionals from Facebook and last but by no means least my ever supportive girlfriend, were amongst the 80 or so responses. Thank-you to you all.
Finally, as a brief aside, I used Survey Monkey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/) for the first time and was very impressed. It's a really usable web application and a great way to gather stats. It's certainly something I will be using in the future PR campaigns. Although I would hasten to add that 'quick and dirty' stats are no substitute for quality piece of market research. Although they do sometimes generate fantastic coverage.
